Students in the Harvard Biophysics Program embark on a rigorous program of coursework and laboratory research leading to the receipt of the PhD Degree.

Training in the Harvard Biophysics Program includes the following milestones:

Coursework

Teaching Experience

The Preliminary Qualifying Examination (PQE)

Research Rotations leading to choosing a Research Advisor

Formation of, and meetings with, the Dissertation Advisory Committee (DAC)

Completion and assessment of an annual Individual Development Plan (IDP)

Publishing your Research Work

The writing and defense of the student's original research project contained in the PhD Dissertation
