**Dissertation Title:** Protein Engineering Strategies to Modulate B Cell Responses **PhD Dissertation Advisor(s):** Dr. Stephen C. Harrison and Dr. Aaron G. Schmidt, Dept. of Biological Chemistry & Molecular Pharmacology/ Ragon Institue of MGH Hi! My name is Tim Caradonna, and I’m an MDPhD student working in the labs of Steve Harrison and Aaron Schmidt. Our work studies the antibody response to influenza virus using structural and biophysical methods to characterize antibody affinity maturation. Our major goals are to understand the ‘epitopic breadth’ of the influenza immune response, and to design strategies to influence/focus the immune response to conserved epitopes using modified influenza antigens. Outside of the lab, I spend most of my time playing piano, squash, and cooking borderline ridiculous quantities of Italian food.
